At Heartstone Farms, we sell all kinds of meat — chicken, pork, even turkey.  But at the end of the day, where we started, and what we know best, is beef.

HOW DO WE SHIP YOUR ORDER?

Ensuring you receive a quality product you will love is our top priority. We carefully pack and ship your order frozen so it arrives in perfect condition. Until we pack your box, our product is kept in freezers at 0 degrees.  We use dry ice and compostable insulation to keep your order frozen and safe on its trip from our farm to your table. All of our packaging can be composted or recycled (no styrofoam). 

You will receive an email with your tracking number when your order ships.

Q: DO SUBSCRIBERS gET BETTER PRICING?

Yes - our subscription boxes are all priced significantly lower than buying the items "a la carte." Plus subscribers get "members-only" deals not available to anyone else.

Q: HOW DO SUBSCRIPTIONS WORK?

Heartstone Farms subscriptions are convenient and flexible. You choose your box, how often you want a delivery - simple as that. Plus you can easily skip or delay a delivery - or cancel anytime online.

Q: Will my order arrive frozen?

We pack your order in ice blankets (and/or dry ice) to insure it arrives frozen. We use insulated boxes (that are completely compostable) as well. There are times when an unforeseen delay with FedEx can result in a 1-2 day delay. As long as your meat arrives “refrigerator cold” (lower than 41 degrees) it is safe according to the USDA. In the event that your meat does not arrive frozen or refrigerator cold, let us know. We will replace it or issue you a full credit.

Q: What if I’m going away when my order is scheduled to be delivered?

The great thing about our subscription boxes is you can skip your next delivery, or change the delivery date easily in your Customer Portal.

Q: Can I add-on to my order?

Yes you can. In fact, each month we offer our subscribers “Exclusive” deals that are our lowest prices on some of your favorite cuts.

Q: How long will the meat last in my freezer?

Your meat will be good for 6-12 months - depending on how frequently you open up the door to your freezer.

Q: Can I add other items to my order?

Of course! Many customers will add items to their subscription orders.

How we raise our cattle at Heartstone Farms

Our cattle are raised the right way — out on pasture, the way nature intended. They spend their days grazing on grass in the fresh air, on our 500-acre farm and with trusted partner farms that share our values.

When winter rolls around, they’re fed the hay we harvest ourselves during the summer months — it’s all part of raising strong, healthy animals without shortcuts.

Then, when it comes time to finish, we feed a carefully balanced natural grain ration that helps build marbling and flavor. That extra care at the end results in beef that’s more tender, more flavorful, and more consistent — without ever compromising on animal welfare or integrity.

You might see “grass-fed” in the grocery store, but the truth is, most of that beef comes from industrial systems that finish cattle on corn in crowded feedlots — and still slap “grass-fed” on the label.

There’s also a strong chance it didn’t come from an American pasture. That’s exactly why knowing your farmer matters—because purchasing right-sourced beef supports local farms, ensures transparency, and reinforces the values your customers expect.

We believe in knowing your farmer, knowing your food, and doing things the right way — even if it’s harder.

A Note From Farmer Dan

When I started Heartstone Farm, I didn’t set out to sell every kind of meat under the sun. We do that now — chicken, pork, even wild-caught salmon — but back then, it was just me, the pasture, and our beef cattle. Beef is where I learned this business, and it’s still what I know best.

The Big Beef Box is my way of sharing the very best of what we raise and source. Every cut comes from cattle raised without growth hormones or antibiotics, the way I believe beef ought to be. It’s flavorful, tender, and — most importantly — it’s beef you can trust.
